Infection Prevention and Control Course (IPC)
A 4-hour training designed as a refresher or new course for some in Infection Prevention and Control for beauty trade professionals. The purpose of the course is to prevent and control communicable diseases, specifically COVID 19 in the beauty salon and spa settings. All of the trained beauty professionals received training in Infection Prevention and Control during their initial training however there is no current requirement for IPC refresher to practice, so many of these persons would not have had any recent exposure to Infection Prevention and Control.
Objectives:
- Define Infection Prevention and Control concepts including the Chain of Infection and strategies to break them.
- Describe the current information on COVID-19 including epidemiological updates, signs and symptoms, modes of transmission, etc.
- Describe the beauty industry-specific recommendations for Infection Prevention and Control for professionals and salons and spas post-COVID and beyond.
